Futuristic? Indeed!

Going through a fashion magazine couple of weeks ago, I came across some of Mikhael Kale’s designs. He is known for his edgy and modern designs. His garments are often described as sleek and edgy.

At the LG Fashion week, the Toronto native, Mikhael Kale showed his somewhat futuristic dresses. Using different fabrics (including plastic paneling) Mikhael was able to create a unique look. However I am not quite sure if the look was a success. To me it looked unflattering and trying too hard to design something different.

Mickhael Kale believes that he is inspired by all women around the world, “every woman is a Mickhael Kale woman”. I am not sure his newest collection suits all women!

Elegance, battlefield and runway!

In Fashion on October 13, 2010 at 6:07 pm

Winner of the first season of Project Runaway Canada, Evan Biddell is back to the Toronto Fashion Week with his new “Kingdom” collection.

“This season I’ve brought the battlefield to the runway with an armour-inspired collection.”  “There’s an aggressive elegance that comes to life through the combination of industrial hardware and liquid draping” says Biddell.

Fashion is definitely a kingdom where Biddell is king.

Biddell will also present his collection as part of a special on-site media installation during LG Fashion Week on Thursday, October 21 at 6:30PM. A selection of garments from his collection will be on display along with a multi-video installation of the Runway show.

I always loved accessories. They embellish any outfit and transform a simple dress to formal evening wear.

Couple of weeks ago I was at The Queen West Art Crawl, an annual festival that celebrates art. I’ve met tons of great artists that inspired me. However this post is dedicated to a special one that I met and loved her craft! Meaghan Armstrong.

Meaghan makes hats with a vintage touch. From summer hats, to fall winter hats, to cocktail hats and bridal hats, every hat tells a story.

This one is my favourite, the purple colour, the satin fabric and the little details make it a unique piece. Just imagine it with a black dress and purple shoes!

Meaghan makes unique hats for all occasions.

And remember, we all have passions and the important thing is to follow them. Meaghan has been fulfilling her passion since she was 17!
