“I advocate glamour. Every day. Every minute.” Dita Von Teese

There are some people that scream coolness; they have that “je ne sais pas“ whether they work for it or it comes naturally. Dita Von Teese is the epitome of that indescribable something, and she works really hard at it.

Dita has gone from an unknown burlesque queen to an internationally known style icon and fashion goddess sitting front row at the Paris collections.

Not only did she reinvent the very vintage art of burlesque, but she lives by the bygone philosophy of carrying yourself as a lady.

I’m into bondage. I think it’s really fun, and I love playing the part of the damsel in distress. … The feeling is amazing when someone (spanks me) right.

And you wonder why she is my fashion icon?

Corsets always intrigued me, not just because they are a fashion object but because they represent fetishism, glamour, sexiness and romanticism. They have magical powers that embrace the waist and enhance the female figure. From a mere undergarment to a symbol of femininity, the corset is an essential item in fashion.

Dita Von Teese, the synonymous of classic vintage glamour is one of the most famous corset models. She was once compared to Bettie Page because of her spirit and her image. The burlesque star was in countless magazine covers and was the star of the “Cointreau” commercial.

Enjoy her retro style and some of her vintage eroticism.
